Happy Valentine’s Day! Let’s read about a few things we love…

  1. Safe Sex and being STD-Free: Elyssa Goodman brings this incredibly important campaign headed by M.A.C. Cosmetics, Cyndi Lauper, and Lady Gaga to our attention. The two have combined to raise funds with women who have AIDS as well as promote safe sex. [Women’s Wear Daily]
  2. MTV: Ever think: What do Jersey Shore, The Hills, and Real World have to do with music? Yeah, nothing. Clearly MTV has taken notice. [NY Daily News]
  3. Hearing about other people having less than perfect Valentine’s Days: Maybe this is a little bit too schadenfreude-y, but nonetheless its nice to know that while celebrities have a lot of things, a great love on V-Day isn’t always one of them. [US Weekly]
  4. J.D. Salinger: The reclusive author wasn’t always that way. Letters from the author reveal a different side of him. A must-read for anyone looking to read more about the man who wrote The Catcher in The Rye [New York Times]
  5. The Olympics: So maybe we don’t exactly love this part of the epic games, but this article about the Olympics having no women’s ski jumping event elucidates a big issue of equality among the sexes. [Time]
  6. Good Sex: In honor of Valentine’s Day we look at a blog post which helps a college female figure out how to enjoy her sexual experiences. [Isabella Bardou]
  7. Science Articles: Elana Altman lets us know what articles people love to share. “Turns out that people love to share science articles. Who knew?” she says. [New York Times]
  8. Reliving Our Childhood: Kathleen Corlett brings out the child in all of us with this ballad from Muppet star Beaker. If you like Muppet humor, you’ll love this. Especially if you need a laugh today! [YouTube]
  9. Combing Work and Pleasure: At Cornell the number one thing you are supposed to do before you graduate is have sex in the library book stacks. Is this the case at your school? [The Cornell Daily Sun]
  10. Summer: As in (500) Days of Summer. Caitlin Hardgrove directs us to this bonus dance scene from the hit flick. [YouTube]
