Sara Beltran is another Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation winner, for the foundation's accessories category. With her brand Dezso, Beltran channels her experiences in her native Mexico and her travels across India into jewelry that is greatly inspired by the beach. At her Fall 2012 presentation, models in wetsuits sported pieces made from real shells, fossilized shark teeth, and coral.

Can you even remember a time before skinny jeans? It’s almost impossible to imagine a world without. I distinctly remember the first time I saw them in the fashion rags: dark-wash and low slung around the slender hips of Kate Moss. They were everything I wasn’t wearing. My jeans were blue and distressed and straight through the leg. I wanted to reject this new style of cut- “a tapered ankle does nothing for the calf,” I recall sniffing indignantly- but eventually, this tailored trend won my heart, ardently.

But then came the runways of Spring 2011. The ‘70s returned in a big, bronzed, brassy way, including one of the most pre-eminent looks of that decade: the Farrah Fawcett flare. However, as illustrated in the famous tirade by Meryl Streep as Miranda in The Devil Wears Prada, it takes a while for runway looks to trickle down through the sartorial system: from designer-to-designer, couture to department store, department store to outlet, outlet to bargain bin.

Recently though, trend titan American Apparel finally caught up with the cut and introduced a line of these bell-legged beauties online and in stores! If American Apparel is doing it, you can bet this trend is catching, so work the flared pant back into your wardrobe now and stand on the vanguard of this hot flashback!

Take a cue from the look below and pair a strong wedge-heel boot with a flared leg to balance the volume at your ankle. Keep it clean on top with a simple blouse to prevent your look from being overdone and add in accessories to taste!
