Urban Outfitters Under Fire For ‘Jewish Star’ T-Shirt

(Image via Huffington Post)

Well, you can add another point to the growing list of “Urban Outfitters Controversies.” This is a list that already includes selling a shirt in a color called “Black/Obama” and a shirt with the words “Eat Less” on it. The latest scandal is over the $100 “Wood Wood Kellog Tee,” which has a star patch placed on the T-shirt pocket. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) of Philadelphia released a statement saying, “Today the Anti-Defamation League issued a strongly-worded letter of condemnation to Urban Outfitters charging that one of its products “…represents a new low.” The statement goes on to say that they wrote Richard Hayne, the Charman, President, and CEO of Urban Outfitters, to demand an aplogy and the product no longer be sold in stores. The shirt is still currently available on Urban Outfitter’s e-commerce site.
