Spring 2013 Trends: Stripes

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

I absolutely love stripes — I love striped sweaters and scarves in the winter, striped tanks in the spring, striped bathing suits in the summer, and striped tees in the fall. Stripes all year round! But seriously, I love how you can wear stripes anywhere, anyhow. Very few things don’t work with stripes on them.

As I may have mentioned before, I have a little bit of a shopping problem. Like many of you out there I’m sure, I love adding new clothes to my closet at affordable prices. But finding a balance between quantity and quality isn’t always easy – except when I’m shopping at Target. I always find fun things for my closet, and never end up breaking the bank (unless I am getting a lot of things).

I’ve found a few amazing striped pieces I wanted to share with you, starting with this super fun Xhilaration stripe print swimsuit.

I love the colors on this for summer (or for tanning during Spring finals…)! It would look great on July 4, or anytime with a great tan. The contrast between the solid ruffles and the blue and white stripes is so poppy and fun.

As far as dresses go, I’m really feeling this Mossimo Fit and Flare Dress – which comes in two striped colors, coral and teal.

Which one do you like better? Initially I preferred the coral, but I think the teal is a little more unique so I’m adding that one to my shopping cart.

I’ve never actually worn striped flats before, because I usually tend to wear stripes on the top, but I was instantly drawn to the colors on these Mossimo Ona Striped Scrunch Ballet Flats. They are so bright and fun — perfect for Spring. Plus, I always prefer the scrunched back flats, as they are way more comfortable.

While stripes are usually seen as pretty casual, you can definitely have dressy ones, like the stripes on this Mossimo tank with gold sequin stripes. The top would be perfect to wear at an end of the semester party with a pair of dark skinny jeans and heels.
