Introducing the Virtual Wardrobe Organizer, Walk in My Closet

“Trapped in the closet.” “A skeleton in the closet.” “Cleaning out your closet.” Why have our closets always been associated with shame and secrecy? For you clotheshorses out there, your closet may contain some of your most prized (material) possessions! But now, your closet doesn’t have to be hidden behind closed doors. With the new virtual closet manager Walk in My Closet, your whole wardrobe can be put on display—as well as everyone else’s.

Created by Joe’s Jeans creative director Ambre Dahan and her friend Amandine Rohmer, Walk in My Closet delivers the virtual closet organizer that we have been pining for since we saw Cher Horowitz’s in Clueless. With the site, you can catalogue, plan, and share the contents of your wardrobe with other users. Each piece you photograph and upload becomes silhouetted against a white background, so your entire closet can be easily sorted and overviewed. No matter how many navy blazers or colored jeans you invest in, you can now always keep track of your ever-expanding wardrobe.

Walk in My Closet doesn’t just allow you to catalog and curate your threads. The site also allows you to stay up to date on the latest trends and emerging designers. Users can be invited by fashion industry insiders to have a peek in their own closets and collect some professional style and wardrobe organization tips.

Did we mention the shopping opportunities? The site gives users access to a curated selection of the best pre-owned fashions that have been “recycled” from other user’s wardrobes, as well as difficult to find fashions from around the world. You can even list your own goods for sale if you’re looking to do a little spring-cleaning!

The high-end virtual wardrobe organizer can be accessed via the web and now on your iPhone with the new iOS application. The app lets users shoot and upload photos, share their styles, and look through other members’ closets all from your phone. And the best part: the app is free. Never have we been so excited to show everyone what’s inside our closets!
