The 66th annual Cannes Film Festival may have started out with a downpour of rain, but that didn’t dampen spirits or the ability for attendees to look fashionably flawless. The festival began on May 15, and the stars will continue to show off their exquisite outfits until May 26. Paris may be known as one of the fashion capitals of the world, but this week is all about the south of France for fashion icons and film buffs. Here are some of the best dressed celebs we’ve seen so far, and we’re sure there will be more great looks to come!
Carey Mulligan in Christian Dior
The Great Gatsby kicked off the festival as the opening film this year, and the cast did not disappoint on screen or on the red carpet. The movie is on the list of must-see films this summer, if not only for the timeless story, but for the stellar costumes as well! Walking in to the festival, Carey looks flawless in this simple Dior gown, and her double arm candy doesn’t look too bad either.
Cara Delevingne in Burberry
It would be impossible not to notice this Burberry model strutting and posing down the entrance to the festival. Treating the red carpet as her own personal runway, Cara is a true knockout in her black, lacey gown that is perfectly accented with sparkling jewels. Her fierce red nails and smoky makeup make this outfit a total win.
Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior
Keeping things simple in black and white, Jennifer turns this understated look into something that is truly stunning. Once again, she proves that she’s America’s sweetheart with this classic appearance, but her spunk still peaks through with the pop of red lips.
Nicole Kidman in Christian Dior
It may have been rainy for a few days during the festival, but you wouldn’t be able to tell by these cheerful spring colors. Nicole stands out amidst her black-suited entourage and she turned heads thanks to the intricate, colorful patterns and popping pink stilettos. We definitely wouldn’t mind borrowing those heels for a fun summer outing.
Nicole Kidman in L’Wren Scott
We’ll give another shout out to Nicole because she’s had a number of gorgeous outfits throughout the festival. She got the memo on prints being a popular look this season, but the adorable affection between the star and her hubby, Keith Urban, is just too sweet to ignore.

Emma Watson in Chanel
Thinking along the same lines as Jennifer Lawrence, Emma takes the basic black and white scheme and claims it as her own. Keeping it classy, as the British usually do, she waltzed down the red carpet in style and with ease and fashionable simplicity.
Cindy Crawford in Roberto Cavalli
Not only is this dress absolutely eye-catching, but Cindy looks as if she hasn’t aged in years! If we all can look this great when we hit our late 40’s (that’s right, she’s just three years shy of the big 5-0!), then that would be quite an accomplishment. Cindy looks great and she knows it, and she can still claim a high spot on top of the fashion totem pole!
Solange Knowles in Stéphane Rolland
Solange took a turn to the wild side with this natural look. She stands from the other stars with this unique flowy gown that has a muted, brown tone, and you don’t see this kind of feathered embroidery every day. When she let the long train cascade behind her, this one of a kind design made a beautiful addition to the many other gorgeous gowns at the festival.
Doutzen Kroes in Atelier Versace
This Victoria’s Secret Angel certainly looks angelic in this Versace gown…with a splash of sexy fashionista thrown into the mix. Although the gown is elegant on the bottom, the sparkling, crisscross top is anything but subtle. Doutzen shows off all her best features, including her legs that go on for days and days.
Zhang Yuqi in Ulyana Sergeenko
This Chinese actress might not be as well known in the United States, but her brilliant green gown certainly made her known as she walked into the film festival. The plunging neck line and slightly puffy shoulders created a stunning form that worked beautifully with the solid green color. Her confidence completed the look as she lit up the carpet with her dazzling smile.
