It’s Time to Talk Tinder

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WPUNJ chapter.

Tinder: the app you love to hate and pretend that you don’t use, but we all know you do. There is no shame in trying online dating or experimenting, so give it a try. It’s fun, it’s exciting, and it’s adventurous. As a fellow experimenter, I think tinder can only be best described through gifs.

You hear your friends talk about Tinder but pretend to not be interested in something so ridiculous.

But your curiosity peaks, so you steal your friend’s phone just to find out what all the fuss is about.

You realize it is still pretty stupid and decide you would never get your own profile.

But maybe, just maybe, you think it’s kind of fun.

So you give in and create your own profile.

You start swiping left and right.

Then… bam! Your first match!

Your second and third match come in, and it keeps on going. Talk about your self-esteem booster.

They message you, you message them, and suddenly you’re juggling six dates this week alone.

So you have come to the decision that maybe Tinder isn’t so bad after all. Will you find prince charming? Maybe, maybe not. But you’re young and in college, go out there and experiment! Be daring and bold, date multiple people, and find out what you like and what you don’t. Be willing to explore everything, even things such as dating apps, while you’re still young. Who knows, you might find some really interesting people.
