Exams and the end of the school year are quickly approaching, but before you go insane and lock yourself in the Memorial cages, do some quick little pick-me-ups that’ll leave you happy and content. By the way, I recommend listening to “Get Happy” by Judy Garland while doing these activities.
1. Wine Wednesday meet girl’s spa night
What is better than aromatherapy candles, facemasks, girl talk and a little wine? Rent a rom-com (or The Muppets, cause it’s awesome) and pamper yourself with your closest girls. You can find homemade facemask recipes here, or head over to the Origins counter at Macy’s.
2. Go to the SERF
Sure, no one ever wants to workout, but it is scientifically proven that exercise releases endorphins and makes you happier! You’ll feel better about yourself and won’t regret drunk eating at Ian’s. Even better, attend a fun class with friends. Core Crunch is a great workout and the instructors make it super fun.
3. Party like, like it’s the end of the world!
Since studying will soon take up all of our time, get all your partying out now! Tuesday night? Pshhh, head over to Monday’s and have a good time where no one will be judging you. Though, when it is exam time, I recommend putting a cap on your alcohol consumption.
4. Head to the zoo
Okay, this one is inspired by a little daytrip I took today with great friends, and it really did make me happy. Sometimes all you need is a little escape from the hustle and bustle of campus, and going only a few blocks away can make a huge difference. There are so many cute neighborhoods and houses on your way, we even ran into two sweet girls running a lemonade stand! The sea otters and prairie dogs were among our favorites because the animals looked like they were having a great time! Couldn’t help but bring a smile to my face.
5. Re-watch your favorite funny TV Shows…or just watch Ellen
Ellen is phenomenally funny, and I can’t help but smile and dance along during her intro when the entire audience dances with her. But if Ellen isn’t for you, which I have no idea why not, re-watch some of your favorite funny TV shows. If you can’t think of any, I have found myself crying of laughter from Comedy Central’s oh-so-profane show Workaholics (psst…season 1 is on Netflix). This show is about three losers that might make you feel a little bit better about the way you live your life.
