Tips To Help Keep Your Relationship “New”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winthrop chapter.

I’m just going to be honest…relationships are not easy.

Being in a mature relationship with someone you love will have its ups and downs, but if you really love the person you’re with, it’s totally worth it. I have found that there is a common misconception with relationships that after a while it’s normal to get bored with your S/O. This does not have to be true for you! Your goal should always be to keep your relationship exciting and fun. So, here are a few tips that can keep your relationship feeling new!

1.  Make a bucketlist for your relationship

This bucketlist should be full of goals that you and your S/O want to accomplish. Write down where you would like to travel, what fears you want to face and where you want to be in five years and do it all together!

2. Spend time with other couples

If you’re looking to do date night a little differently, you should definitely try double dating. Having mutual friends with your S/O is very important! Hanging out with other couples adds twice the laughter and twice the fun to a night out on the town.

3.   Keep it romantic!

After a while, romance may seem like a thing in the past–but it shouldn’t be! You can keep your relationship romantic by suprising your partner every chance you get, sending random flirty texts, or even writing corny messages on bananas. Most importantly remember to always make your S/O other feel just as special as you did at the beginning of the relationship.

Happy Dating, Collegiettes!
