How do you balance being a varsity athlete and your academic responsibilities?

My student planner is my life saver. The due dates of my assignments and projects, various meetings for my organizations, swim meets, and practice times are all written in my planner, so I know when and where I need to be throughout my day.

What are you doing over winter break?

I will be staying on campus until December 21st for the beginning of winter training for swimming before returning home and spending Christmas with my parents, two brothers, my sister-in-law, and two-year-old nephew. On December 27th, I will be returning to campus to continue our winter training, only this time, the team will be travelling to and training in Puerto Rico!!

Puppies or kittens?

PUPPIES!!

What advice would you give to freshmen?

Don’t worry if you’re not involved in a lot of organizations your first year at Vanderbilt. I didn’t join my sorority or honor fraternity until the fall of my sophomore year, and it was the best decision I made. It gave me time to adjust to the student-athlete life, so I could fully commit to joining other organizations on campus and acquire leadership roles in those organizations.

What is your favorite thing to do in Nashville?

Physically running around our beautiful campus or downtown, especially the pedestrian bridge!
