9 Cookie Recipes to Try This Holiday Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UW Stout chapter.

One of my favorite holiday traditions is baking cookies with my family. Every year, we throw in a couple new recipes. Now thanks to the internet, there is always a fun new cookie recipe to try. Over break, grab some friends and family and try your hand at one (or 10) of these delicious gems!

Chocolate Crinkle Cookies This recipe is not too out-of-the-box, but it is probably one of the most underrated cookies out there. This recipe from Rasa Malaysia is definitely a keeper!

S’mores Chocolate Chip Cookies When the weather gets too cold to have a campfire outside, this cookie recipe from The Baking Chocolatess is the next best thing! The little marshmallows on top are so adorable, and they look like they would be fun to make.

Sea Salt Butterscotch Pretzel Cookies This recipe from Cookies & Cups is one that you don’t come across every day. Like the S’mores cookies, these look so cute and delicious! As an added bonus, there is no mixer required for this recipe.

Snickerdoodles Snickerdoodles are such a classic recipe and always a crowd pleaser. This recipe, also from Cookies & Cups, is great because the dough doesn’t need to be chilled. You can have a fresh batch of cookies in just 15 minutes from start to finish!

Galaxy Cookies These cookies look complicated but they are just a spin on chocolate cut out cookies with frosting. They look amazing, and I am sure they taste out of this world! Sugar Spun Run has the directions to help you get started.

Gingerbread Christmas Tree Cookies It simply wouldn’t be the holiday season without gingerbread cookies! These would be fun to decorate for a holiday party . . . and even more fun to eat all by yourself. The recipe from Skinny Taste is low fat and easy to make, so there is no guilt if you do end up eating them all alone!

Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies Who needs plain old chocolate chip cookies when you have this recipe in your life? Thanks to the oatmeal as a main ingredient, you can get away with eating these for breakfast. The directions from Coco and Ash are simple to follow, so go ahead and give these cookies a try!

White Chocolate Dipped Peppermint Sugar Cookie This recipe from Cooking Classy offers a fun twist on the traditional sugar cookie. The peppermint sprinkles give the cookies a festive twist, but could easily be substituted with sprinkles of your choice.

Cranberry Orange Shortbread Cookies If you are a person who likes to mix fruit with dessert, then this recipe is right up your alley! My favorite thing about this recipe from My Recipe Magic is that it only requires 5 ingredients. This one also sounds like it would go great with a cup of hot chocolate or coffee!
