Campus MovieFest finale a hit with students

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USF chapter.

The Campus Movie Fest was the hot event at USF last night.

The Marshall Center was even decked out with a glitzy red carpet to welcome the budding student crews. Everyone waited in anticipation for a glimpse at the competitions’ work…and they got more than a glimpse.

Sixteen films were chosen to air from over one hundred entries. In the end, three winners and one wild card were chosen to continue on to the next stage of the competition in California. “Rent-a-Zomb” took the award for best comedy while “Evol” came away with the award for best drama. The overall winner for Best Picture was a film titled “Shh.”

Prizes included the iPod touch, iPod nano and Final Cut Studio. The remaining film to continue on to Nationals will be chosen next week according to the highest text vote.
