On any given day, one can expect to find freshman Madeline O’Mary baking cookies for fellow dorm-mates, reading, knitting, or crafting the perfect pun. With a consistantly upbeat attitude, Madeline knows exactly how to brighten a room and inspire its inhabitants. I sat down with Madeline to get a glimpse into what it’s like to just be her.
What are some of your hobbies?
All of my hobbies include making stuff. I’m honestly one of the most domesticated people I know. I like knitting and sewing and cooking. I enjoy making food because it tastes good, and I use yarn because it feels good and looks good. You can never have too many socks, I tried. Also, cooking is a great way to make friends.
What is the number one thing on your bucket list?
To make a pun to end all puns, but that isn’t very feasible. I would like to go to the place in France where they bury all the people who are socially important or rich enough. There’s a building for it and my favorite authors are buried there. The French know how to bury their heroes.
What is something you are most proud of?
I’d love to share my puns, but the world doesn’t always want them. I’m really proud of some of the things I’ve knit. Robots can make a lot of things, but machines can’t do what I do.
Do you have plans after graduation?
I would love to have plans after I graduate, but right now I’m in the discovery zone, trying to figure out what those plans are. There is a lot to look forward to when you make plans.
