10 Things Beyonce Taught Us

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNH chapter.

Everyone loves Beyonce, she’s doesn’t get over 12 million Twitter followers and 7 million Instagram followers by being normal; she’s exceptional. Queen Bey is fierce and fabulous and everything in between and luckily for us she uses her lyrics to teach us some everyday lessons. Here are ten reasons why to listen more carefully the next time you hear a Beyonce song, you never know what lesson she’ll give you next.

1. Beyonce taught us all how to count.  1+1 is in fact 2. Algebra is only important to know that

“One plus one equals, two
And it’s me and you”.

2.  Incase you didn’t know what a Diva was, well Beyonce tells you, it’s “The female version of a hustla”, now if only Jay-Z wrote a song describing a hustla.

3.  If you like something, “Put a ring on it”. If you have Vine you’ve proabably seen someone make a video of them playing Beyonce’s Single Ladies in the background and them throwing a ring on multiple items, such as cookies and ice cream. It’s pretty simple, if you like something find a way to keep it.

5. In the Ring the Alarm video, Beyonce goes a lil cray-cray when her man is gonna put “another chick on his arm”. Every girls got a lil craziness in them, so if the time calls for it, unleash it.

6.  Boys take notice: Beyonce inspiried us to let you know that we “can have another you in a minute”. So don’t mess-up or you’re about to learn that you aren’t Irreplaceable

7.  YES, LADIES we do RUN THE WORLD.

(Actually, Beyonce runs the world, but we follow in a close second.)

8.  Don’t be afraid to shake what your momma gave you, some may not be able to handle all that “jelly” but don’t forget that Bootylicious is BEA-U-TI-FUL!

9. She hits it on point when she sings about what she’d do if she Were A Boy for a day, and we’d all do the same. Between drinking beers with the guys and and lying about why you won’t answer your phone, she says all the things we hate about boys, but wish we did.

10.  I Was Here is not only my favorite Beyonce song but it’s a song that is so powerful only her lyrics can perfectly decribe why we love Beyonce,

I wanna leave my footprints on the sands of time
Know there was something that, and something that I left behind
When I leave this world, I’ll leave no regrets,
Leave something to remember, so they won’t forget

I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I’ve done, everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here

I want to say I lived each day, until I die
And know that I meant something in, somebody’s life
The hearts I have touched, will be the proof that I lived
That I made a difference, and this world will see

Beyonce reminds us all that we’re not here forever and whatever it is that we wish to do, do it, so you can leave your mark on this world.

Thanks Beyonce, you’re the best.
