Fall’s best shoes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Montana chapter.

Not every girl is a a footwear-obsessed fashionista, but every girl can appreciate a good pair of shoes. With the cooler temperatures sure to soon emerge suddenly as they tend to do in Montana, it’s best to be prepared in the shoe department. Although the winter weather of Missoula may make you long for comfort and warmth, you can’t wear Uggs every day. Well, you could… but you won’t. Because you’re more fashion-savvy than that. I have nothing against Uggs (I mean, they’re like an orgasm for your foot — footgasm?), but there are many more options for cold weather footwear.

When you think of fall, you think of boots. Cute, versatile, and coming in millions of different styles and colors, boots are a wardrobe staple for any collegiate. I think every woman needs a simple but chic, solid pair of boots with little-to-no heel for traversing treacherous icy patches, or just for keeping your feet comfortable for trudging around campus all day. If you’re like me and you don’t have a ton of cash to drop on designer footwear, you can check out some boots like these, which are affordable and can be worn with many different styles.

Or if you’d like to go for a suede option…

Another fall boot trend that might take a little more guts to wear is…. Ankle boots! Aka BOOTIES! Isn’t that just fun? You can pair them with skinny jeans and a flowy tunic for an easy, put-together look.

Suede flats. Sigh. These flats are just so lovely and ladylike. Although you might want to stick with boots for those days when you’re mucking through slush or two feet of snow (oh, Montana), beautiful flats like these are great for normal days when you just feel like having awesome-looking feet.

Although I’m not sure of the origin of the flats below, you can find cute and relatively affordable flats at stores like Gap and Target.

I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing this shoe outside in the wintertime in Montana, but it’s just so gorgeous that I had to put it on here. Am I the only one swooning?
