After the long luxurious time away at the beach and in the bed, resting our precious brains from school, it is time to get down to business. April is almost over and it is time to buckle down, finals are just around the corner! I don’t know about you but my plan to “be productive” over spring break didn’t really work out. So now not only do collegiettes have to get used to going to class again, but we have to get back in the habit of studying! Here are some great tips for the academic collegiette!
- Don’t let school stress you out! There are helpful ways to get that A on your test without breaking a sweat or needing to cover up those eye-bags with concealer. The most important tip of all is to get to bed on time. Pulling all-nighters are not only ineffective but the lack of sleep can send your brain into overdrive. Not to mention that sleep deprivation can cause bad skin! Now I know you don’t want to go to class looking like a mummy with pale skin and raccoon eyes.
- Prioritize! Prioritize! Prioritize! I know someone out there is probably thinking “If I don’t stay up late how will I study?!” Priorities my dear. My day planner has become my best friend. I encourage everyone to keep one. The last time you had a test did you find out the day of? From now on make sure you write down every single assignment beforehand so you’ll be on top of your game for the next time around. Does your teacher assign a lot of reading? Utilize your resources. Pull out your syllabus, figure out what chapters have to be read and by which date so that you can space it out over a period of time. Don’t try and cram it all in the week of the test. You’ll do nothing but hurt yourself in the process.
- Stay Organized! Big test coming up? Calm down. Pull out your planner, read your assignments, get to work, and get to sleep on time. I know it sounds boring but it’s not like you’ll be working and sleeping all the time. When you plan out your day, you’ll notice you’ll have real free time without worries and time to hang with your friends. So now you’ll be studious and have time for your friends and yourself. You may even find that you’re happier because you’ll feel accomplished. Happiness does wonders for your body. When your mind is happy your body is happy and your glowing skin will show it. You can do it collegiettes!
