Five Swimsuits Under $50

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UFL chapter.

It’s officially swimsuit season in Gainesville, and whether you’re heading to the springs, the nearest beach or a pool, you’ll want to look your best while you’re catching some rays.  However, as we all know, bathing suits have gotten expensive.  Now it seems like you can’t get a cute one without breaking the bank, but have no fear, we are here to show you that you can get adorable swimsuits that are on-trend and flattering to your figure for less than $50.

The Stripe Malibu Swimsuit

Where: American Apparel
Price: $45
Link: http://store.americanapparel.net/rnt48ps.html?c=Aqua%20Paprika%20Vertical%20Stripe

American Apparel’s striped one piece is a great way to stand out and still cover up.  The vertical stripes are slimming, and the color is bold enough to make a statement.  The low back and high sides make the suit sexy instead of dull.  If you haven’t had time to perfect your bathing suit body or you’re just looking to try a new swimsuit shape, a fun and flattering one piece will definitely catch some positive attention.

Black Poppy Bathing Suit

Where: Pacsun
Price: $39

Pacsun always has cute and reasonable bathing suits, and the black poppy suit is perfect for springtime.  The bathing suit comes in two floral shades, and the bandeau top is perfect for ladies who are smaller in the bust areas.  It’s fun without being too skimpy and incorporates this season’s trends of feminine colors and floral prints.

Xhilaration 2-piece Bikini

Where: Target
Price: $30

I can’t say enough good things about Target’s bathing suit section.  Once the weather gets warm, the store fills up a section with adorable swimsuit tops and bottoms that are reasonably priced and perfect for mixing and matching.  This multi-colored triangle print bandeau is different enough to be eye-catching, but if you’re not a fan of wearing an all over print bikini, you can pair the top with solid black bottoms or the bottoms with a pink or yellow top.

Liya Swimsuit

Where: Victoria’s Secret
Price: $44
Link: http://www.victoriassecret.com/ss/Satellite?ProductID=1265771559221&c=Page&cid=1331606911311&pagename=vsdWrapper

Victoria’s Secret is perfect for finding lower-priced, adorable swimwear.  The online site even has a section for bathing suits $49 and under.  This halter bikini is a great option for women who are curvy and busty because it gives them support up top with the wide band.  The suit comes in tons of colors, but if you’re looking to stay on trend, try the mint green in order to embrace spring’s newest It color.

The Abbie Swimsuit

Where: Victoria’s Secret
Price: $42
Link: http://www.victoriassecret.com/ss/Satellite?ProductID=1265771943237&c=Page&cid=1331606911311&pagename=vsdWrapper

The Abbie bathing suit is the best bet for someone who wants the classic triangle top bikini.  Not only does the suit come in tons of patterns and solid colors, but also it’s flattering and includes some padding.  Like the model did in the photo, try mixing stripes and polka dots.  It’s a fun way to spice up your suit and give the classic bikini a modern twist.
