This year has been an amazing year for the movie industry! There have been movies that have broken box office records and movies that have changed usage of special effects forever! Some of these movies were anticipated for years whether they were sequels, or books made into reality. These movies were very fascinating because of how much the filmmaking crews integrate scenes from a book and turn it into a reality! These movies were very popular this year and ones that have not been released are highly anticipated among audiences nationwide. Now let’s start our countdown!

15. Wreck It Ralph

Wreck It Ralph is a Disney animated film that demonstrates a characters change of behavior. In this animated film, Ralph is trying to fit in with others but he is always shunned out because he is a villain. When characters are celebrating their 30th anniversary of the games’ existence, they don’t invite Ralph. Felix (the hero of the game Fix-It Felix, Jr.) invites him to the celebration but others refuse to let him in telling him that in order to get in he has to win a medal like Felix has. This movie is an amazing animated movie for kids and adults because it shows how a character changes from bad to good. This movie was really popular at the box office and it also has a positive message for kids.

14. The Bourne Legacy

The Bourne Legacy is a spinoff of the movies The Bourne Legacy, The Bourne Supremacy, and The Bourne Ultimatum. Jason Bourne was the main focus of those movies. For the spinoff there is a new character called Aaron Cross who suffers from the same problem like Jason Bourne did. The US Defense Department of Black Ops kills their agents because of an operation gone haywire, but the problem is that Aaron Cross, now a rogue agent, never died. You definitely need to watch this movie if you love action and suspense!

13. Looper

Looper is an interesting and complex movie that makes you think while watching. Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays the younger Joe while Bruce Willis plays the future Joe. This movie is filled with action and is very difficult to explain in words because you have to see to believe. The younger Joe has to pretty much kill his future self. To understand why you must see this movie! Once you start you will not want to stop watching!

12. The Lorax

“It’s not about what it is, it’s about what it can become.” – Dr. Seuss. This children’s book was adapted into a movie by Universal studios and they did an amazing job integrating the storyline into an hour long movie. The Lorax is a character that speaks for the tree when the Once-ler tries to cut down all the Truffula trees for his factory. The Lorax is a great movie for kids not only because it is an animated movie, but because it has an emotional message. The Once-ler at the end does learn his lesson but you have to watch this touching movie!

11. Dark Shadows

Barnabas Collins played by Johnny Depp is more than two hundred years old vampire who lived in a coffin for two hundred and twelve years until he was rescued by some grave diggers, but Barnabas trying to solve his starvation killed and ate his rescuers. The Collins (not Cullens) is not your average family. Dark Shadows was a 1960’s soap opera that Tim Burton adapted into a movie that introduces famous celebrities and shows Johnny Depp in a different character. 10. Twilight’s Breaking Dawn Part 2

Edward, Jacob, and Bella are back! So much has happened since the first Twilight film and all the characters have grown so much since the first film. Edward and Bella are married and have a daughter, Jacob imprinted with Renesmee, and the Cullen family became a lot more accepting of Bella. This last film is the end of a series which will bring an end to all the problems and issues that were brought up on the previous films. Watch this movie to see how Edward, Jacob, Bella, and Renesmee will live their lives at the end!

9. Men in Black 3

Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are back for the final installment of Men in Black. The third part did really well in the box office and brought back memories to kids of the nineties. This third installment was released more than ten years after the sequel but was still a success because of Agent J and Agent K’s connection since the first installment. You really need to watch the first MIB part one and MIB part two in order to see how all three installments connect and how the third film truly is freakishly amazing!

8. The Perks of Being a Wallflower

This amazing novel was turned into a reality and it is spectacular! It is a coming of age story and Logan Lerman and Emma Watson play the main characters in this film. It may look more like a chick flick but if you plan to go watch a movie with your boo this movie will be amazing because it will make you laugh, smile, frown, and to some people the love story will give you Goosebumps of how good it is. It did very well for a limited released movie. It is recommended to watch this movie!

7. Magic Mike

What girl does not like sexy shirtless men doing exotic dancing? Maybe not every girl but what made this movie more appealing was Channing Tatum shirtless for more than half the movie. It is a comedic movie as well as dramatic due to the obstacles Tatum’s character Mike Lane struggles with. The plot does sound cheesy in a way that the problems are revolved around a male strip club but this movie did excellent in the box office. I recommend all ladies to watch this movie and as for guys you should accompany your girlfriends to watch it together. It is not too much of a chick flick (minus the male stripping part hehe!)

6. The Hunger Games

Katniss and Peeta are brought to life and The Hunger Games will now become a new saga for viewers of all ages to enjoy. The Hunger Games was full of suspense, drama, and a bit of humor which created an emotional attachment to the characters. Imagine living through the Hunger Games at such a young age is what makes this movie suspenseful because out of 24 people, only one will be left and named the winner. If you want to see a new saga, then watch The Hunger Games and you will be mesmerized by all the characters and how they will develop throughout the film.

5. Ted the Movie

Ted is a funny stuffed animal that ages just like humans do. Ted speaks like a 30 year old adult would. Mark Wahlburg plays Ted’s best friend and owner John Bennett. John and Ted have been inseparable since Ted came to life when John was little kid. This movie has very vulgar and inappropriate humor which is why it is rated R; however it is still an amazing comedic movie. You get to see two characters transform into mature adults but getting there wasn’t easy, especially for Ted. Ted did really well in the box office being the first highest rated R movie to gross over $500 million worldwide second being The Hangover. It is a must see!

3. The Amazing Spiderman

Peter Parker is back and with the beautiful Gwen Stacy! Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone make an amazing couple on screen and Peter Parker struggles to control what happens around him until he gets bitten. This new franchise has a few of the same details as the last but does a good job to differentiate itself from the other Spiderman movies. Audiences were skeptical of this new Spiderman franchise but it did well financially grossing over $753 million worldwide! Spiderman is back and he is here to stay!!

2. The Dark Knight Rises

Batman returns for the last part of the franchise and it is one of the best Batman films ever made. Not to mention all the celebrities that came out like Anne Hathaway, Joseph-Gordon Levitt, Morgan Freeman, and much more. The Dark Knight Rises grossed over a billion dollars worldwide despite the incident that happened in Colorado. It probably would have made a lot more money but it still did amazingly well.
