Since Kim K.’s recent display of her assets (if you catch my drift), her little sis Kylie can finally catch a break from people talking about her lips. And if you’re thinking, “why would anyone care about Kylie Jenner’s lips?” Check out the picture below:
Truth be told, I’ve never been on Team Kardashian/Jenner. I actually love to hate these people. BUT ANYWHO. The point is, if Kim and others (like Promise Phan, aka dope2111on youtube) can change their bone structure and/or transform their faces just by using makeup, I’m sure making your lips appear fuller is possible too. I am pretty sketpical though, I mean, the difference between the two pictures is seriously crazy!
Promise Phan as Jennifer Lawrence – pretty good, huh?
So to try and figure this out, I’ve conducted my own experiment (on myself) to find the answer to the the question everyone’s been asking: Has she or has she not gotten plastic surgery to make her lips fuller? Hopefully I don’t end up looking like a duck by the end of this blog!
Experiment Prep:
SO! To do this lip challenge/experiment, I decided to use my new Smashbox On The Rocks Trio holiday set. It’s actally AMAZING and I can’t wait to use it!
Isn’t it wonderful?
The color I’ll be using from this set is Primrose which I’ll pair with Loreal’s Infallible Lip Liner in Rose. I’m also going to use my trusty Cover FX Concealer.
Last but not least, I’ll be using my small concealer brush and my angle brush to conceal and define the edges of my lip.
Getting Started
First things first, I started off with my natural lip and fullness. As you can see, I don’t have the fullest lips, but I think they fit the overall shape of my face if I do say so myself!
(Awkward duck face alert! It’s just to show you how full/not full they are – I promise)
Next, I took the Loreal lip liner and outlined my lips outside the lip line, instead of within my lip line. After that, I filled in my entire lip with the liner and then put Smashbox’s Primrose ontop.
That was easy! Lastly, I used my Cover FX concealer along with my two brushes to clean up any mishaps and define my lip line. Here’s some before and afters side by side:
(Before-After x2)
As you can probably see, my lips do look fuller after the lip liner and lip stick combo in these pictures. The thing is though, when I looked in the mirror in real life, I could still see my natural lip line peaking through. It was easy to see where my real lipline was underneath the make up, so I’d probably never wear this look out. In Kylie’s case, I have three propositions.
One: Either her lips are so small that she can just draw them on because her natural lip line won’t show through (but then you do see the texture of her lip in her pictures, and they look pretty damn real)
Two: She definitely got plastic surgery. Botox for dayzzzzz!
Three: Maybe she’s just an expert at faking fuller lips? A master of disguise?
What I’ve Learned:
I’m definitely coming to the conclusion that…there is no absolute conclusion. But I think if I absolutely had to make a decision on whether or not her lips are natural or not, my guess is that they aren’t. While I was lining my lips, I made sure I didn’t go too far beyond my natural lip line – if I did, I’d probably look something like Ronald McDonald. I realized I couldn’t fake the fullness of my lips if I went too far beyond my lip line too. Since Kylie’s lips were magically transformed from being really thin to extremely plump, she would have had to really extend her lip line to get to the amount of fullness they are at today. It’s my opinion that if she did do that, it would definitely be noticeable. What do you guys think about her new look? Do you think her lips are an illusion? Or, are they the result of injections? Take care lovelies!
