HC: How did you get starting with blogging?
AE: I read a lot of blogs before my first year of college and realized, “I could do this better.” So I did. I grossed over 10,000 page views in my first two months, and over 100,000 in the first 6 months.
HC: Do you have any advice for someone who is interested in starting their own blog?
AE: Think of a name for the future, not just for right now. At the moment my blog’s name is kind of limiting, and I have to re-brand. Also, do your research! Make sure your idea is unique, that you’ll have enough time to put into it, and that it’s something you actually want to do.
HC: Has The College Life Stylist changed your life at all? If so, how?
AE: Yes! People recognize me (so weird). And it’s opened up so many amazing opportunities. I now know that marketing is something I want to do in life, and even have some personal connections for potential jobs after graduation thanks to my blog!
HC: What’s your favorite part of blogging?
AE: My favorite part has to be the community. The blogging community is so welcoming and helpful. They never fail to inspire me.
HC: What’s your favorite thing about UMass?
AE: It’s so relaxed here, no one cares who you are or what you’re doing. You have every opportunity to be yourself without having to worry about what people will think. It’s literally a city of 17-23 year olds.
HC: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
AE: I would go to Paris. I’ve never been, but people tell me I’d love it! Also (this is the blogger in me) it would make the perfect backdrop for Instagram and blog pics.
