As embarrassing as it sounds, I have more guilty pleasures than I can count. Some I’m very open about, others… not so much. For the sake of everyone’s entertainment, I’m going to throw all of them out there, so there’s not as much judgment from you readers. That way, I can (kind of) feel okay about admitting my guilty pleasures to the world.

1. Mountain Dew Code Red
I never drink soda. Emphasis on never. Not in the dining hall, not when I’m out to dinner. But whenever I see Mountain Dew Code Red, I HAVE to buy it. Something about the cherry flavor is just so much better than any other soda. Besides, it’s pretty fun getting all jacked up on Mountain Dew (Talladega Nights, anyone?)

2. One Direction
A boy band composed of 4 British boys and 1 Irish boy… can you say yes please? These lads- Niall, Harry, Louis, Liam and Zayn- competed in the British singing competition The X-Factor, and although they didn’t win, they are making it big. After listening to their first single, “What Makes You Beautiful,” I fell in love. I mean, who can resist a boy with an accent who also happens to be a super talented singer? I know I can’t. Check out their newly released album Up All Night– maybe you’ll fall in love too.

3. Cats
This is probably my most embarrassing guilty pleasure. But as I look across my dorm and see the cat calendar my friend got for me, I’ll just come out with it: I love cats. Cat videos on YouTube never fail to crack me up (check out “Surprised Kitty,” and you’ll see what I mean). Although when it comes to actual animals, I’m a dog person, cats will never cease to entertain me always.

4. Snuggling
This is almost self-explanatory. Snuggling is, quite honestly, one of the best things EVER. All of my friends sigh, laugh or just completely turn me away when I ask to snuggle. Is it really that much to ask?

5. Tabloid Magazines

When I enter any kind of bookstore or convenience store, I have to restrain myself from heading straight over to the magazine aisle. Why? Because I know I’ll end up buying all of them, even if they all have the same stories. I really can’t help being curious about Kim’s newest boyfriend or Kate Middleton’s (swoon) most recent outing. Maybe buying every one isn’t a bad idea, I mean I have to find this out somehow. So back me up here, readers. This is perfectly understandable… right?

See? Now maybe you don’t feel so bad about your guilty pleasures while you’re laughing about mine.

Sara studies at the University of Delaware (go blue hens!), and absolutely loves it. She is currently studying communications and english with a professional writing concentration. and is fostering a developing interest in public relations after having been introduced to the field through the Public Relations Student Society of America at UD. That has inspired her to concentrate in public relations in the future, though she is a firm believer in getting a well-rounded education and taking a bunch of classes in various subjects. Wherever her education takes her, Sara has always had a passion for writing and will continue her writing in any way possible throughout the remainder of her college years and beyond! Born in New York City, she appreciates and is preparing for the fast paced lifestyle of a city girl, but enjoys the more relaxed nature of her hometown on the Jersey Shore (though she is not affiliated in any way with the cast of MTV’s Jersey Shore). Only minutes from the beach, Sara tries not to take the beautiful atmosphere for granted. Similarly, she tries not to take anything else in her life for granted, and in this sense, prides herself on her strong work ethic. She believes that when life gets tough, it’s only because something great is on the horizon. She adores music, her family and friends, movies, writing, magazines, and travel. Sara cannot wait to see what else college has in store for her, and is ready to take more risks and live with no regrets. She is beyond thrilled to be part of the Her Campus team, and looks forward to writing and editing content that focuses on an audience of college women dedicated to achieving their aspirations.
