A Necessary Treat

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Texas chapter.

I have always been rather protective of my eyebrows. Most of my friends get their eyebrows waxed professionally at salons, but I have always been reluctant to put my facial symmetry into someone else’s hands. However, last year one of my friends went to Milk + Honey salon downtown and raved about the experience. My hectic schedule and lack of decent lighting in my dorm room finally pushed me over the edge, and I decided to spring for a professional wax.

The salon itself is well lit and not far from campus, which is always a plus. Their services are reasonably priced: I paid $25 for an eyebrow wax. I definitely felt like I got my money’s worth. I felt immediately welcome, and they do everything they can to make you comfortable. I told my waxer about my doubts, and she explained the process to me so that I would feel more comfortable. My eyebrows look great, and I definitely plan on going back!

Whether or not you want to try a wax, a massage, or a pedicure, it is important to take out time for yourself, and to feel pampered. I know that with my insane schedule, lack of sleep, and general frenzy, having a “spa day” made me feel good about the way I look. So take time in the next week or two to treat yourself to something sexy!
