5 Snaps You’ll See on the Campus Story This Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Texas chapter.

Ever since Snapchat created the Campus Story, students all over UT have been stepping up their snap game in attempts to make it on the UT Story.  Making it on the Campus Story has become a rite of passage of sorts, and there’s something pretty cool about knowing that your snap has the potential to be seen by tens of thousands of  people.  From sleep-deprived students pulling all-nighters at the PCL to adorable pets, the Campus Story has seen it all. While no one knows the exact formula for creating a snap that’s going to make it, here are 5 snaps we’re bound to see on the Campus Story this fall:

1.  A coffee maker mid-brew with an incredibly early timestamp

While we’re counting down the days until the cold weather finally hits, there’s no denying the October and November are going to be incredibly busy months: homework, projects, and exams galore mean that there are going to be a lot of late nights and early mornings for collegiettes all across campus.  So go ahead and snap your coffee at 5:00 am; we’re all rooting for you!

2.  An adorable pet in a sweater

Is there anything cuter than a dog or a cat in a sweater?  While we’re changing our wardrobe, our pets are also bundling up for the impending cold weather, so we’re sure to see some animals who love their seasonal look (and some who hate it).  Some people think it’s ridiculous to put clothes on animals, but don’t let that deter you from capturing the moment; not everyone can have a pet in college, for whatever reason, so everyone who wants one is definitely living vicariously through you.

3.  Someone who’s late for class/work/a meeting/etc.

I would say that there’s something incredibly difficult about getting out of bed in the fall, but it’s honestly incredibly difficult to get out of bed at any point during the year.  Whether it’s the cooling weather or the steady decline of sunlight that’s forcing collegiettes to hit the snooze button, we’re definitely in for some shaky-cam style snaps this fall taken by students in big cardigans, fluffy scarves, and knit hats.

4.  Something blowing up in a Chem class

While most of us who aren’t taking Chem thank their lucky stars that they aren’t balancing formulas or doing lab write-ups, you can get a little jealous when you don’t have an excuse to watch something create sparks or form a ring of fire.  Not only will everyone on campus get front row seats to a chemical reaction thanks to the Campus Story, but we’ll most likely get to see it from multiple angles.

5.  The orange-lit Tower

Let’s face it, no matter how many times you see the Tower all lit up, you can’t help but stop and stare.  Even though everyone who watches the UT Story can probably stick their head out the nearest window and see the Tower for themselves, there’s an overwhelming pride that makes it almost impossible NOT to take a snap (or ten).

Happy snapping!
