It has been a crazy few weeks and I apologize for not blogging to you all! I can’t believe it’s almost July. I need the summer to slow down immediately. I’ve been in Manhattan for a month now, and I’ve quickly realized two things: I desperately need money and I need to meet as many people as possible while in New York City.

This past week, I had the honor of attending a Seventeen magazine meet and greet featuring the five finalists of the Pretty Amazing Cover Contest. The five girls told us why they deserve to be on the cover, and I have to admit I’m 100% on team Zoe! She has a very impressive story and her energy can light up the dullest of rooms. After the finalists spoke, we had a chance to mingle. There were tons of interns there and I was dying to network. Turns out, I had the chance to introduce myself to the Editor in Chief, Ann Shoket! I was sure that I just needed to say hi and tell her my name, even though she will probably forget next week. The event was being filmed by MTV, so I couldn’t dish out my resume to her while there is a huge camera and microphone in my face. However, I did get a picture with her!

Time to dish about my internships. I’m learning that it’s easy to blend in as an intern. In my previous internships, I’ve been the only intern, so this is my first time working with a group of others and I’m quickly learning that I need to make a lasting impression. At SELF, I think I do a good job of performing to the best of my ability and I’m starting to feel more comfortable asking questions, which is great. On the other side, at Elite Models, I’m fading into the background. This week I’m determined to step it up! I will beg for tasks until I’m able to show the office how good of an intern I really am!

As for my social life, I’ve met so many new people. There are a ton of magazine interns and fashion interns that I hang out with and it’s so refreshing hearing their stories. Maybe one week, I’ll have a little Q&A with a fellow intern!

Remember to be the best that you can be. Never rest until your good is better and your better is best. My favorite quote of the week: “Stop dreaming and do it.”
  Blog to you soon <3
