There are so many great things to say about Koya. Though shy and reserved when you first meet her, Koya is bright and ever-so-sweet. With big dreams and a great future ahead of her, there is no doubt that this aspiring fashion journalist will have her name in lights!

In 10 years…..
Sitting in my office in New York, I look out the window at the wonderful view of Manhattan. The skyscrapers touch the sun that’s beaming down on me like a spotlight. Around my office are previous editions of the magazine, all the articles that I have written. My dreams are fulfilled as a fashion journalist.
In 10 years I’ll be 26 years old, turning 27 in December. I’ll be a graduate from either Howard University or NYU. I’ll be working in New York for a world-famous fashion magazine. I’ll own my dream house, a mansion with a beautiful backyard with a patio. A manicured front lawn lined with daisies. By the time I’m 27, I’ll settle down with my lawyer husband and I’ll be planning to have my first child.
Ten years ago I began planning out my future. Ever since I was a child I knew I was destined to become a journalist. It wasn’t until I turned 16 that I took a major interest in fashion. I always dressed differently in my own unique style. Lots of colors, costume jewelry, big hair. I loved to express myself through style. This was the time I decided to become a fashion journalist.
Where I grew up, not many dreams came true. My parents still have not pursued their dreams from when they were my age, which motivates me more to pursue mine.
Fashion and writing are ways that I can express myself, and I decided to combine the two and turn them into my dream.
