Interracial Dating: The Misconceptions

All my life, I’ve never been attracted to black guys. Many people think this is weird. It’s considered abnormal to date out of your race. There are many misconceptions about people who are attracted to people outside of race. All the guys I like are Asian or White. It’s been this way as long as I can remember.
 

I would like to clear up some misconceptions about me and interracial dating. Here are some things people think about people who date outside their race:
 
1. You’re self hating
 
Many people assume that if you like people outside your race it’s because you hate your own race. This isn’t true. The men I like have nothing to do with how I feel about myself. I can love myself and love men outside my race at the same time.
 
2. You had a bad experience with a guy from your race.
 
This also isn’t true, specifically for me. I never have been in a relationship, so others can’t blame a bad experience for my taste in men.
