Why did you choose Suffolk?

I chose Suffolk because I wanted to live in the city. It was close to home, so I was able to still see my family. It was also a very diverse campus and the students here seemed like they really wanted to be here. I also always wanted to be a part of Greek life and Suffolk has a sorority, even though it’s very small.

What are you involved in here on campus?

I am the Vice President of Theta Phi Alpha, the sorority on campus. I founded and am president of the Study Abroad Peer Mentor Club. I went to London for a semester. I was an orientation leader for 2 years. I am involved in the Journey Leadership Program and am also a teaching assistant.

What is the one organization that has had the biggest impact on you?

Definitely Theta Phi Alpha. It’s given me so many opportunities to get involved and take on leadership roles. I have been apart of E-board for 2 years now and it has been such a good experience. Being in Theta Phi gave me a sense of home away from home and has brought me such good friendships.

You founded the Study Abroad Peer Mentor Club  on campus, what made you start that?

I went to London for a semester, and when I came back to Suffolk I felt very disconnected from the campus. I felt annoying talking about my abroad experience to people that didn’t go abroad. So, I wanted to make a place where students could come together and talk about their abroad experiences. For students going abroad, it’s a place to get tips and advice from students that have already went abroad. It is more of a student-to-student place to get guidance and help.

You also have an internship at Hill Holliday, what exactly do you do there?

I am a digital strategy intern at Hill Holliday. I deal with mainly health care accounts. I take weekly reports of health care agencies by pulling data from Facebook and seeing how they are doing. I like interning here because it is a bigger agency. Before I worked at a smaller advertising agency and Hill Holliday is more of agency life, so I really like it.
