Tis the season…of chapped lips, dry skin, and no remains of that awesome tan you worked on all summer. Just because it’s dreary and cold out this time of year, doesn’t mean your beauty regime has to suffer. Her are some tips, along with a few of my favorite products to keep you looking your best during these chilly winter months!

There’s nothing cute about dry skin, and this time of year tends bring out the flakes… not just the ones of snow. But fear not, all it takes to eliminate those dry flakes of skin is a good facial moisturizer. I’m personally obsessed with Philosophy’s Hope in a Jar.  It’s not too heavy, and doesn’t leave my skin greasy, like other dry skin formulas have done in the past, and it still provides my skin with plenty of moisture! It’s available at Sephora starting at $39.00. It’s pricy, but keep in mind it will last you through all the winter months.

A cheaper alternative that I also really like is Garnier’s Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream. It’s different from most lotions or creams because of its gel-like consistency, and it is not only hydrating, but also super refreshing! This starts at $5.99, and can be found at any pharmacy.

The bitter weather and cooler temperatures not only affect your skin, but your lips as well. While Chap Stick or lip balm might work for some, lip scrub exfoliates and rubs away dead and dry skin. Furthermore, any lip color, whether lipstick or lip-gloss, looks best on smooth, even lips. Bliss makes a Fabulips Sugar Lip Scrub that is available at Sephora for $18.00.

A cheaper alternative is Skinnygirl’s Lip Care Lip Scrub, available at pharmacies for $5.99.

One of my least favorite things about winter is watching my summer tan fade away. If you’re like me, I like to have a little color, but at the same time I don’t want to compromise my health and use tanning beds. Instead, I use self-tanning lotion to warm up my complexion with a soft glow. Sephora carries a number of these, including a few made by St. Tropez, which I have heard nothing but good things about. Prices range from $30-$40.

Lately, I have been using Jergens Natural Glow Express Body Moisturizer, and am very satisfied with the results. It sells for about $8.99 at any pharmacy. Regardless of what brand you decide to use, make sure you apply it evenly on smooth, and exfoliated (not necessary but often recommended) skin, and always wash your hands well after!

Moisturizers, lip scrubs, and tanning lotions are just a few of the things I turn to when the cold weather hits. With radiant, hydrated skin, smooth, nourished lips, and a bronzed glow you’ll stay looking your best this winter!
