This Week We Love: Waterproof Clothing

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at St. Andrews chapter.

So far, this Autumn has not been too harsh on St Andrews. We have had our fair share of sun, and a few relatively warm days. I have a feeling that is all about to change. As I sit in my flat curled up in my bed, my soundtrack is the rain on my window. Hence the very adult title of This Week We Love: Waterproof Clothing.

If you haven’t yet heard, St Andrews girls love their Barbour and their Hunter. The Other Guys put it a bit more eloquently: “Our St Andrews Girls they’re unforgettable, Hunter Boots and Barbours on top.” If your boots aren’t Hunter and your jacket’s not Barbour don’t fret, the important thing is to stay both warm and dry.

It’s hard to feel stylish when you are bundled up against the Scottish elements, which is why I recommend buying your rain gear in bright colors. There’s nothing better than splashing through a puddle on your way to class in bright red boots. I also suggest buying a cheap and fun umbrella from H&M or New Look. Try and make sure there isn’t any wind before you open it. Upside down umbrella in front of the library: awkward!

As we’ve said before, St Andrews looks pretty in the rain; make sure you do too!
