Getting an internship offer is difficult enough, but sometimes knowing where to look can feel like an impossible feat. Now tack on that it’s April and you still don’t have a place to work for in the summer. It can be stressful and disheartening, but it’s certainly not impossible. Check out these websites for some great last minute internship listings, and don’t forget to take a deep breath.
LookSharp, formerly known as InternMatch, has thousands of new listings per day. You start off by making a profile that includes coursework, places you’d be interested in a taking a job in, as well as former job experience. If that sounds a little tedious, fear not, because you can connect it to your LinkedIn page. From there, you can search for what type of job you’re looking for and where. Most of the listings allow you to apply through the website, and you can save copies if your resume and writing samples to the site as well for easy access.
Mediabistro is a great website to not only look for great jobs in the media world, but to also take online courses and seminars in subjects that you might not have gotten to in school or don’t have room in your schedule for. They’re not free, but for the level of quality and recognition, it’s a good investment. There’s nothing more satisfying than adding another ability to the “Skills” section of your resume.
Intern Queen, founded by Lauren Berger, is a site dedicated to the success of women in the workplace. In addition to internship listings, Inter Queen also provides girls with dynamic articles about what to wear to a job interview, how to make an impact at your internship, and doing intern work abroad. The site listings are clean and direct, letting you know immediately what’s paid, what’s virtual, and the time frames.
With Saint Joe’s being one of the best Food Marketing, it seemed obvious to mention Good Food Jobs. Their job listings range from restaurants looking for assistant chefs, to executive directors, to live-in farm workers. They also hold a huge focus on the fair trade market. They put out a newsletter alongside the website, highlighting the work people who have gotten jobs off of the site are doing as well as how to use food to create a better world.
One of the nicest things about Experience is that it isn’t strictly for undergrads. There’s a whole tab on the site dedicated to both graduate students and what to do with your life post grad. There is also tool on the site that breaks down what your resume and cover letter should look like depending on the type of field you’re looking to get in to.
