A few weeks ago, I went on a hiking trip to Big Basin Redwoods State Park.

It’s located in Santa Cruz County in Boulder Creek, Calif.

I have been hiking a few times before, but it has definitely been a while.

Going on this hike gave me reasons to become interested in hiking more and also experience the great outdoors.

Here are five reasons why hiking can be beneficial for you:

1. It’s refreshing

There were plenty of clouds and fog during my hike. The rain made the atmosphere misty and bearable for a hike.

No matter what the weather is like, it is still refreshing when taking in the surroundings of nature.

2. Health

The hike I went on was about 11 miles long. That may seem like a long distance for people, but at each hiking ground there are multiple trails that you can choose from.

You don’t have to hike 20 miles to be a “real hiker.”

You can even hike three miles and enjoy the nature walk.

Either choice will benefit your health, and it’s a fun and easy way to get in your daily exercise.

3. Creates A Bond

At the end of the hike, you and your friends will have a lot to talk about whether it would be about how hard the hike was or what you guys saw.

The entire hike is filled with memories, picture taking and growth of a stronger bond. It is a fulfilling experience for everyone involved.

4. Reaching the End of the Hike

The best part about a hike is finishing, especially if it was kind of difficult. There’s always the thought of “I can’t believe I just did that!”

5. Free trip with friends

A lot of people my age love the word free. Good thing hiking is free. Anyone can do this activity.

All you need is a car if the location of where you want to hike isn’t in walking distance.

The trip will be worth it and you will not regret it!
