Walgreens Back-To-School Beauty Buys

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at San Francisco chapter.

Alright ladies, it’s almost time for school to start again, and that means back-to-school shopping! And I’m not talking about clothes. I’m talking about make-up.

Yes, it’s time to throw out you’re crusty nail polishes, dried out concealer and clumpy mascara that you have worn since January.

Start the fall semester off with some new, affordable, high-quality products that will keep you looking polished and fresh at Walgreens –a beauty store staple for all college women.

I recently checked out some new products at Walgreens and found some that are key to ensuring a fresh and clean look; highlighting nails, complexion and eyelashes.

1. Nailpolish

Walgreens has every brand of nailpolish in every possible color you could think of,. However, one brand stood out in particular: Essie Nailpolish. It goes on evenly and smoothly –perfect for when you’re in a rush. It also has a built-in gloss factor requiring no need for a clear top-coat. There is no noticeable chipping, even after wearing it on my toes for days! It’s a perfect choice for the first day of school, and get it soon because it colors are going fast!

2. Face Cream

Walgreens also has a vast selection of face creams, but I found Dream Fresh BB Cream by Maybelline New York to be an excellent choice. I usually don’t wear face creams or powders to refrain from having “cake-face” but surprisingly the thin layer I applied did not result in any powdery residue. It helped neutralize redness and –my favorite my thing about it is that it actually contains sunscreen! SPF 30! Talk about early winkle prevention. This was probably one of my best secret finds at Walgreens.

3.  Mascara

Volum’ Express the Mega Plush should be your first choice for your new mascara. In a big, fun, bright blue container it makes your lashes bold and long. It has not been flakey or brittle, applies evenly, and lasts all day. Just make sure you have room for the mascara bottle in your purse!

Walgreens is the destination for on-campus beauty and has a variety of selections! And from now until August 25, Walgreens is hosting a sweepstakes where you can win some pretty cool swag. To enter, purcahse 3 of the 5 participating products and you’ll be entered into the drawing! Start off the year glowing with affordable, effective beauty products and potentially win big – all at your nearest Walgreens!
