On November 22 The Hunger Games: Catching Fire premiered in theaters. Catching Fire is an American science fiction adventure film based on Suzanne Collins’s novel, Catching Fire, the second installment in The Hunger Games trilogy. Catching Fire is the sequel to The Hunger Games, and the second installment in The Hunger Games film series.  Jennifer Lawrence returns as Katniss Everdeen, the main protagonist, along with Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, and many more also reprising their roles.

With the 74th Annual Hunger Games resulting in Katniss and Peeta as victors there are hushed rumors all throughout  Panem. Are Katniss and Peeta truly in love? Or were they defying the Capitol in their act with the berries? Is a reblleion brewing? And who is the real enemy?

Katniss is seen as a beacon of hope for the people in Panem who wish to rebel, but with her family on her mind, Katniss must make the right decisions to keep them alive. She, along with fellow tribute and victor, Peeta Mellark, venture off in their Victory Tour, a custom ritual for victors in the Hunger Games. The victor, or victors in this case, travel from district to district to speak to the people about their triumph in the games.

Katniss must be perceived as a gushing, blushing, school girl who is madly in love with Peeta. A girl who never meant to defy the Capitol; a girl who only meant to die because she couldn’t go on without the man of her dreams. If Katniss cannot convince the people of her love for Peeta, then she will pay the ultimate price.

The 75th Annual Hunger Games are approaching, and Katniss will be going back into the arena along with Peeta with the message, “Remember who the real enemy is” lingering in her mind. There can only be one victor, and in this year’s games, all past victors must fight to the death once more. Alliances form, relationships and friendships will be tested, and the odds are in no one’s favor this time.

The arena is in a jungle with tricks and schemes around every corner. There can only be one victor, but who will it be?

Tick, tock goes the clock for Katniss Everdeen in Catching Fire.
