Dreamy David Benavidez

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rider chapter.

Call him Dave, call him D, but don’t search his full moniker on Facebook or Twitter because you’ll never find him. He’s as exclusive as front row seats to the Alexander McQueen catwalk or Saturday night reservations at Nobu and that inaccessibility about him is what makes him all the more irresistible…agreed ladies?

With Valentine’s day swiftly approaching we wanted to discuss perhaps the most infamous four-letter word with this week’s cutie. Keep reading and you’ll find out if he’s ever got caught up in the big L, the most romantic thing he’s ever done for a girl and he’s candily honest about what it takes to win his heart. (By the way you can thank us later!)

Was soccer your first love?
Actually my first love was basketball. I started playing both when I was about five. Growing up I preferred basketball over soccer, but as I got older I started to lean more towards soccer. By my sophomore year of high school I decided to focus on one sport, soccer, and that’s how I got here today.

What about the ladies? Have you ever been in love?
Not yet. There has been one girl in the past that I got real serious with but things just didn’t work out in the end. I have yet to find that special someone but I’m definitely looking!

What’s it gonna take to win your heart?
Looks are very important to me. How she dresses, her hygiene, and keeping a nice figure are all things I look for. However, personality is just as important and is a huge thing for me. She’s got to be funny, outgoing, and fun to be around. Also, I like a girl who’s real confident in herself. She’s got to be independent, intelligent, and have her head on straight. Most of all, she’s got to not only be able to be my girl but also my best friend.

What’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done for a girl/girlfriend on Valentine’s day?
Man there’s so many [laughs] but probably just getting my girl a few gifts and then taking her out to a nice restaurant, movie, then spending the rest of the night together would probably be the most romantic thing I’ve done.

Do you have a really bad or embarrassing Valentine’s Day or date experience that you want to share with us?
Fortunately nothing bad enough to mention hopefully it stays that way!

David isn’t sure why he never got into the whole social networking world and says he probably won’t ever venture out into it, but we found out that he’s currently single. So, you got the photos, you know where the field is…now it’s up to you!
