This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rhodes chapter.

Is college stopping you from trying out new fitness classes, training for a 5K, or cooking up a storm of healthy Pinterest recipes? Summertime is right around the corner and is the perfect time to test the waters.  Whether you’re working a full time internship, traveling with your friends, or spending your days basking in the sun at your beach house (I wish…) you can still spice up your fitness routine and your taste buds by creating a bucket list.  Here are some ideas.

Just because you don’t have a gym membership does not mean you can’t work out at home!  Body weight exercises along with utilizing household items like chairs, couches, and even water bottles can be used to give you an effective workout without the cost of a gym membership.  Here are some ways to make the most of your household items:  http://www.moneycrashers.com/strength-training-exercises-women/

Get outside!

Go hiking, biking through town, paddle boarding, canoeing, and horseback riding.  Try something different!  Go on an outdoor date or grab your girlfriends and go on a bike ride.  Have a picnic in the park.  Make the most of the summer sun while it lasts.  You won’t regret it!

Most importantly, have a fun, fabulous and fitness filled summer Collegiettes!!
