Why You Need to Watch MasterChef Junior

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oxford Emory chapter.

It’s nine o-clock on a Thursday night, all my work has (magically) been finished, and I just picked up some Chick-Fil-A. The table is set for a perfect night. I put on my sweatpants, crawl into bed with my food, and pull up Hulu on my laptop, perusing for something new to watch. On my suggestions, I see Gordon Ramsey standing with some little kids in aprons, and I figure I’d give it a shot.

It only took me two days to make it through all the episodes of the current season because I loved it so much. I mean, what’s not to love? It’s just a whole bunch of cute kids cooking food! First of all, Justice is a total badass. Like she just owns the kitchen, and she knows she’s the most talented chef in there. Then there’s Donovan, who is actually the cutest child ever. When he explains his dishes to the chefs, my heart melts. Cydney is actually a thirty-year-old in a child’s body. She makes an absolutely perfect crème brulee, and I can barely make Easy-Mac without burning the house down. Gonzalo, although talented, is not one of my favorites. He gets down on himself really easily, and I just wish he focused on how talented he is rather than crying all the time.

Overall, this show is a must-watch that is perfect for any occasion. Had a bad day? Watch MasterChef Junior. Had the best day of your life? Watch MasterChef Junior. TV night with the roomie? Watch MasterChef Junior. Moral of the story? Watch MasterChef Junior. You won’t be sorry.

As a future London expat and wanderlust victim, she visits the land across the pond quite frequently along with many other places in Europe frequently, just hoping that life will take her somewhere fun and exciting.
