Don’t be afraid of heights this spring.

The wedge sneaker is back in vogue, and the versions in stores now are much cuter than the clunky platform Baby Spice popularized in the 1990s. Spring’s hottest shoe features a high top and a hidden wedge, up to about three inches.

Their sporty look is casual enough for class, but will give you a “sneaky” boost of height, as well as elongating your legs.  They are also surprisingly comfortable, even if you aren’t used to wearing heels.  Expect to burn a few extra cals if your daily commute around campus includes stairs, but don’t wear them to the gym- these shoes are definitely not made for the elliptical.

Short- *ahem*-petite girls, like myself, will rejoice in the extra inches, but don’t steer away from this look if you’re tall either.  This shoe looks fab on lengthy limbs.

Since this look is huge for spring and summer, you can find them on the shelves at pretty much any shop, but don’t splurge- they’re probably not going to be a fashion classic anytime soon.  Forever 21 has a cute version in neutral colors for $37.80 with a 3.5 inch wedge.  Pair the cream version with tan skinnies and a chambray shirt with a floral scarf for class. The black version could even work for a night out with shorts and a crochet top.

I'm a junior. I like to read, watch T.V. and sleep. Aaaand that's it.
