Fun Things to do During Finals Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oregon chapter.

Finals week is quickly approaching and with that comes the overbearing wave of stress. To help relieve a little bit of that stress, it’s important to take some breaks in between hours of endless studying. Here are some fun things you can do to give yourself a much needed break!

1. Do some exercise!

Studies find that staying seated for too long can actually be a detriment to your studying. So, by getting up and moving around, that will get your blood flowing to your brain and in turn make you actually think more. Also, doing something like yoga or jumping jacks can just get your energy up and get you more hyped to study!

2. Watch some funny videos

After studying math or history for hours on end, it is always nice to just search the internet and find the weirdest, yet funniest, videos out there. Laughing will not only make you super happy, but it would also increase your energy levels!

3. Eat comfort foods

Okay, what better way to distract yourself from the horrible reality of finals other than stuffing your face with your favorite food. Pack up your stuff and head straight for the closest pizza place because its better to study on a full stomach instead of thinking about food all day.

4. Online shopping

So, this may not be the most cost effective stress reliever, but it is a darn good one. At least for me, there is nothing better than spending some money on clothes you probably don’t need. The feeling when you see that your order has been placed is an irreplacable feeling.

5. Hang out with friends

The only comforting part of finals week is knowing that literally everyone else is going through it too. So go hang out with some friends and cry together about all the work you have to do. Trust me, your friends will need you in this time of need too.
