10 (not so) Pearls of Wisdom from the ‘Return of Kings’ Blog

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Nottingham chapter.

After causing a public storm with an article on ‘why you should date a girl with an eating disorder’, ‘heterosexual, masculine’ blog ‘Return of Kings’ has been thrown into the spotlight ready for the sane to pounce upon. This has to be satire, right? Wrong. On their beliefs page they claim that masculinity is being ‘increasingly punished’ and that ‘a woman’s value significantly depends on her fertility and beauty.’ Sadly, these are the real thoughts of some real people. Here’s some really stupid stuff that their writers have blessed us with:

1.       Bitching and nagging isn’t her challenging you. It’s her flat out telling you that you’ve let things slide. A woman in check rarely challenges her man.

2.       Women can no longer take a firm stand on the moral high ground (in the discussion of rape) because they don’t own any fucking property there. Their lies and cries for attention have eroded their credibility.

3.       (Women) use the fact that we want an innocent girl, and have become masters at appearing more innocent than they really are. They want their prince without having to live like a princess… don’t be duped.

4.       Look, nobody likes fat girls, not even fat girls themselves. If you want men to treat you like a human being, you better maintain a human shape.

5.       (On cheating) Don’t apologize. Don’t feel or act guilty — after all, you only followed your biomechanical instincts as a man, and therefore you have nothing to feel guilty about.

6.       (Women) If you want kids, forget about your “career” and start thinking about getting married now.

7.       This “girl power” is, in fact, a great herd passion of women, comparable in significance to their profound interest in Kim Kardashian.

8.      A woman will rarely demonstrate any understanding of how her own poor behaviour caused or influenced you to respond in kind. Simple cause and effect, as it concerns moral agencyis far beyond her.

9.       Female-dominated professions—nursing and teaching, for example—are commonly marked by a distinctly female sort of politics, endlessly catty and petty.

10.   Never lose sight of the fact that, if you are a real man—physically and mentally strong, and therefore self-assured—then there’s not a woman on the planet who is your equal
