Lately in the healthy industry, Kale and its awesome superpowers has become a mainstream item. What some people don’t realize is the diversity that Kale presents and also the health benefits.

Kale is a dark leaf green that’s filled with vitamin K, A, and C, manganese and copper as just a few. It is also has detoxifying, cholesterol lowering and cancer fighting benefits. How is it possible that one leaf can provide so many benefits? Nature at its finest.

Aside form the enormous health benefits; another part of its super power is its versatility. Kale can be used in so many different ways and incorporated in every single meal.

Breakfast:

  • Put kale in your omelet

  • Make a green smoothie with kale (also pick a fruit that will have a very strong flavor; I prefer adding banana and mango to overpower the bitter taste of kale)

    • The smoothie will come out a nice green color, but don’t be discouraged, you won’t be able to taste the green ingredient

  • Add it to your breakfast sandwich

Lunch & Dinner:

  • Make soup with Kale in it

  • Use it as part of the greens in your salad

  • Sauté the leaves with some garlic and spinach

  • Bake it into a casserole

  • Put it on a pizza

Snacks:

  • Make kale chips (really very easy and provides a nice healthy snack)

  • Add it into a hummus recipe

When trying to incorporate certain foods into your diet, I find Pinterest and online blogs a very good source for unique recipes that cater towards what you want to eat.

Hi. I am a sophmore studying business with a dual concentration in marketing and management, as well as a minor in sustainable business. Outside of school I have a passion for sports, especially football (Patriots) and hockey (Bruins). I also love to bake, snuggle with my puppy, read and hang out with my friends.
