James Kuell ’12

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at NCSU chapter.

Name: James Patrick Kuell
Year: Junior
Hometown: Davie County, NC
Major: Computer Science Engineering

Do you have any nicknames? My casual nickname is Jim…but my party nickname is Phoenix.

What do you enjoy doing in free time? Volleyball, playing guitar and other music, hanging out with friends, going to parties and grilling out.

What is your one favorite N.C. State tradition? Tailgating and getting front row for every single football game.

Have you ever done anything crazy for a girls attention? one time my friends and i got some cameras and convinced this one girl that she was on the Jamie Kennedy Experiment, therefore, getting her to do all sorts of ridiculous things to be on the tv show.

What is an embarrassing moment you have had at NCSU? My freshman year I went to my first class…which I thought was the wrong class at the time so I stood up and tried to leave causing the teacher to yell at me to sit back down and stop judging her on the first day…turned out it was the right class and the teacher hated me for the rest of the semester.

What do you plan to do when you graduate? For a year or so, either move to New York City and be a bartender or move to the mountains and be a white water rafting guide…then settle down and get a steady job.

What is your favorite quote? “Guess what? I have flaws. What are they? Oh I donno, I sing in the shower? Sometimes I spend too much time volunteering. Occasionally I’ll hit somebody with my car. So sue me– no, don’t sue me. That is opposite the point I’m trying to make.”

What is one thing you haven’t done at N.C. State yet but want to do before you graduate? Definitely the Hillsboro Hike!
