Research papers, presentations, cumulative exams, and lots and lots of stress…all of these make up a classic midterm season. This year, I’ll try to help you get over your midterm fears with a few tips! Whether you’re a first semester freshman or a seasoned expert, these will surely help you survive these hectic weeks:

1. Scheduling is everything

I, personally, like to make weekly, as well as daily, schedules with reminders for assignments. In addition, it’s helpful to plan out when to study or work on things throughout your week to ensure you finish everything by the deadline and give yourself time to check it all over.

2. Know what you don’t know.

Whether it’s by reading your textbook, going through powerpoint slides, or reviewing your notes, make a comprehensive list of everything you don’t understand. Be honest with yourself. This way, you can more effectively manage how you spend the rest of your time and prevent yourself from missing any important information.

3. Communication

Talk to professors, tutors, and friends to find out what other essentials and particulars you need to be aware of. This could mean test format, specific information you missed, or just honing in on your understanding of that class. Use whatever resources you can

5. Ace your midterm!

Present, submit your paper, and take your exam! Whichever it may be, all your hard work will pay off. When it’s all over, treat yourself! Go to dinner at your favorite restaurant, eat dessert, or go shopping. Do whatever will keep you going until finals come around!
