How to Get Sh*t Done Over the Holidays

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at MSU chapter.

There are few feelings more satisfactory than finishing your last final of a semester, knowing all of your hard work from the semester is behind you and three weeks of serene bliss wait for you.

With three weeks absent of class to attend and assignments to worry about, it seems that it’d be easy to get some miscellaneous tasks accomplished over break. For most of us, however, it’s much easier said than done to complete all of our assorted to-do items over break.

There are plenty of ways to balance giving yourself the relaxation time you’ve worked hard for and also accomplishing tasks you’ve put on the back burner all semester.

1. Yes…write a to-do list.

Of course, this seems obvious. What better start is there to getting your stuff done than creating a to-do list?! We can’t think of any better ways to start your organization.

2. Schedule those appointments.

If one of those tasks you want to get done over break is an appointment, call and book it as soon as you remember! Don’t let time escape you before it’s too late to sneak in an appointment.

3. Plan your travel times.

Planning on embarking on a trip this break? Make sure to fine-tune all the necessary details and leave those days open solely for recharging time. It is called break for a reason!

4. Designate a day each week for your list.

When you’re done designating certain dates for trips or day plans, set aside a day each week where you will be productive and go do that pesky errand or task that’s been hanging over you for months.

5. Relax!

Don’t forget that you’re on break, too. When it’s not your designated day to be productive, make sure to take advantage of the time off to take some much-needed relaxation time. Recharge those batteries so you’re rearing to go for the next task on the list.
