“Ugh! I can’t find it; I seriously need to clean out my purse.” These are words every girl has said one too many times. Unless you are a Kardashian who has a million handbags and switches purses every day, the two or three you use are probably a complete disaster. To make matters worse, we all know we’re probably never going to clean them out. It’s the sad truth ladies. Let’s dive in to the black hole…our purse:
1. So many receipts.
There’s literally a million receipts in there and none of them need to be saved, but guess what? We’re not throwing them away!
2. At least one to five pens.
What if we need to write something down? I don’t know, but it’s good to carry pens. Plus, you can write on the receipts you’re not going to throw away.
3. Random pennies and nickels.
When we put change in our wallet it tends to look bulky, so there’s an easy solution to this. Toss the coins in your purse. It’s not being messy, it’s being logical!
4. Tampons.
If you don’t carry around tampons, you really need to. In case you, your friend or a random woman has a crisis, you should be ready to go. You never know when Mother Nature is going to strike.
5. Gum wrappers.
When you think about it, a purse is actually just a cute garbage bag we carry around…but it is useful. We don’t want to shove a gum wrapper in our pocket if an actual garbage can isn’t around, so why not put it in our purse where it’s out of site and out of mind.
6. Spare charger.
Living on your phone comes at a price, because eventually it will die and you’re doomed. Unless, however, you pull out that charger you bought at CVS and plug it in somewhere and to continuously keep checking your Instagram.
7. Lipstick and lip balm.
Yes, they probably get lost deep down in the bottom of your bag and you can’t find them half the time, but they must be in there. No one wants to walk around with chapped lips or faded lipstick. No girl! Get your stuff together and carry around lip balm and lipstick!
8. Bobby pins and hair ties.
Need a bobby pin? Just look deep down at the bottom of your purse. Your hair ties are also usually kept there and are almost always stretched out, but when you need one you know it’s in there.
9. Hot sauce.
After “Formation” by Queen B came out, I am confident that two in every ten women carries around hot sauce in their bag. Also, you never know when food is going to suck, so you need to be ready for anything. Swag.
10. Very hard old candy.
Ok, this mostly applies to anyone who is 65+ or that one friend in your group who always has hard candy in her purse. But either way, we’ve all got some type of mint or candy in our purse. You never know when you’re going to need to make your pizza breath go away.
11. Memories.
Us ladies may have way too many things crammed into our purses, but it’s because we don’t want to forget. Like that photo strip of you and your boyfriend from over the summer, or the movie stub from 2012, or the receipt from McDonalds that time you and your friend went at 3 a.m. Yes it’s all junk, but it all has a story.
