She was crowned Ms. School of Education on October of last yearand like her Mr., she decided to sit down with Her Campus-Howard to give Howard collegiettes a glimpse into her life. Later on this year she will participate in the annual Mr. &Ms. Howard Pageant.

1. What inspired you to become Ms. School of Education?
The School of Education is the smallest school on campus, but it is the founding school of Howard University. I wanted to be the face of the school so that I could remind the rest of Howard University of that great legacy.

2. What about being in the School of Education makes your experience special/unique?
The only undergraduate major in the School of E is Human Development, which is also unique because not only does the major address educational and pedagogical topics, but also addresses the holistic development of the entire person in every stage of life.

3. How did you celebrate your win?
My Mr. (Mervin Augustin) and I went back to my house and ate pizza!

4. What do you do in your free time?
Free time? What’s that? No but really, in the small breaks that I do get, I read books and blogs, and watch Netflix and HGTV

5. Top three goals for the next 3 years?
Earn my masters degree, and get a job that I love. That’s pretty much it!

6. Favorite Magazine?
Her Campus of course!

7. Do you see yourself as a positive role model for younger women?
It is my most sincere hope that young women look to me in admiration. I am so happy and so humbled when young girls and even peers tell me “I’m so proud of you” or “I want to be like you when I grow up.” I feel like I’m doing something right.

8. Any last words/advice?
Follow your bliss. Whatever that might be. Pursue your passion, your dreams, and you will find that happiness and success everyone searches for.
