5 Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day With Your Girlfriends

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

Valentine’s Day: the most wonderful time of the year if you’re in a relationship but for us singles it’s just another day on the calendar. You can either hide under your bed until the 15th or call your girls and make this day a great one!

1. Have a girls night in.

Complete with movies and popcorn. Don’t pick one of those those sobfest lovey-dovey movies but instead, pop in a comedy to keep your spirits up. Kevin Hart usually does the trick, check out “Ride Along,” in theaters now.

2. Create a new tradition.

Secret Cupid? Same rules apply as secret Santa. This is a fun way to still buy and receive a gift and come on, who knows you better than your best friend?

3. Dance the night away.

Luckily Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday which is a perfect excuse to dress up and have a great time. Not in the partying mood but still looking to have fun? Try bowling or ice skating.

4. Pamper yourself.

Buy a few of your favorite treats, light some candles and take a long hot bath with your favorite music playing in the background. Take this time to unwind and catch up on the latest Cosmo magazine.

5. Try a fun new workout.

There are plenty of fun fitness classes you and your friends can sign up for like yoga, zumba and if you’re feeling a little adventurous try flirty girl fitness. Do whatever it takes to get your blood pumping!

Most importantly, Valentine’s Day is a commercial holiday. Your loved ones or significant other should always show you that you’re special, not just once a year.
