Beat Stress this Spring

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Harvard chapter.

Stay healthy this spring with these simple and easy tips!

1. Get active!
Exercise is a great way to relieve stress from schoolwork, and it will make you feel better (you will look better as an added bonus!). Set aside half an hour everyday to be physically active! Getting a group together to work out can also be a lot of fun.

2. Sleep!
Sleep is crucial for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The best way to get a good night sleep every night is to set a regular time to go to sleep and stick to it. Remember, even if you have a lot of work you can always finish it in the morning! Sacrificing sleep is not a healthy habit to keep up.

3. Spend time with friends!
Often, people neglect to remember how important relaxing is. If you are feeling down in the dumps, get together with friends and have them cheer you up. Maybe have a movie night or just catch a meal in the dining hall. Seeing friends can brighten your day and put you in a better mood.

4. Give yourself a study break!
After you finish studying for a big midterm or a final paper, take a break. Forget about your grades for a little–just take a sigh of relief and do something fun for yourself. Taking a walk outside, painting your nails, and Skyping friends are great study breaks.

5. Eat healthy!
Eating healthy does not have to be such a challenge. Eating healthy also does not mean that you have to go on a diet. It just means that you are aware of what you are putting in your body! Being conscious of what you eat will lead you to make better choices automatically, and you will feel better once you do! Try to eat veggies at dinner or have some fruit at lunch.
