You have been friends with someone for years and then all of the sudden, the life altering news comes that she is moving. Not only is she moving, but she is moving across the ocean to another country. It’s catastrophic, mind-blowing, life-altering… well maybe not that extreme, but it does cause some problems.

The Time Difference

You will be like, so annoyed and forget that she is 7 hours ahead of you and is probably asleep when you are trying to reach her.

Forgetting About the Difference in Cultures

You will forget that she lives in another country, so they don’t celebrate American traditions, holidays, and so forth. So holidays such as the 4th of July do not exist there.

Crazy Traditions

Things that seem extremely extravagant are totally normal in that foreign place far, far away. For instance, yacht week instead of beach week. How is this a thing and how do I become a part of it?!

Fashions and Money

Designer things are so much cheaper for her. How is that even fair? Like ship me over a Chanel bag, please?

Vicarious Living

You get to pretend you know all about all of the cool places she gets to go… just because you have heard about her amazing stories.

Boys

When you ask about the boys there, her response is “they don’t speak English, they’re short, and hairy”. Oh ok.

Visiting One Another

When you find out she is coming home for winter break, it is like the best day ever.

Long Lasting Memories

Soon enough you can take all the weird selfies you want together and go on all of the fun adventures you two have always dreamed of.

P.S I miss you AFree
