10 Overheard at Geneseo Posts that (Kinda) Pass the Bechdel Test

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Geneseo chapter.

For those of you that don’t know, the Bechdel Test (also known as the Bechdel-Wallace Test) is a method of determining whether or not a piece of media is feminist–or at least worth watching.  The test was popularized by Alison Bechdel, in a segment of her comic series Dykes to Watch Out For called “The Rule”.  Media that passes the test must meet three simple requirements: (1) have two female characters, (2) that speak to each other, (3) about something other than a man.  Though the comic that introduced the concept was written in 1985, a surprising amount of media still does not pass the test.  But some Overheard at Geneseo posts pass with flying colors!  Because here at Geneseo, we girls have more important things to talk about than just guys.  Let’s take a look!
