The Struggle To Stay In School Or To Drop Out And Travel Told Through Disney Characters

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

It’s a little over half way through the semester and you feel major anxiety kicking in.

You feel completely overwhelmed with studying for test and writing papers.

You barely get any sleep.

You’ve gone through major procrastination, and you get distracted by everything.

You may have even failed a test…or two…

You try talking to your professors about extra credit, and they easily shut you down.

You may have considered changing your career path, but then realize you can’t become rich from watching Netflix all day.

You start daydreaming of places you have never seen before.

And then you get a great idea!

Why can’t you just drop out and travel around the world!? You read about it all the time! Who needs school ANYWAY?!

So you make a huge plan of places you would like to see and things you would like to do.

You start imagining all the great people you’ll meet.

All the cute boys you’ll see.

All the great parties you will go to.

The amazing clothes you will buy.

The amazing food you will get to taste.

So you get really excited and pack all your things.

You tell your friends and they tell you how good of an idea it is.

So you finally decide to tell your parents.

Their reaction is like

And you try to explain but… let the 4 hour lecture commence…

And your reaction is something like…

So you get fed up with them telling you what to do. You’re more than capable of making the right choices, so you decide to leave anyways, as so many Disney characters do in their stories.

And they’re like…

After a couple of days of planning your journey you realize…

How are you going to afford all of this and have money?

What are you going to eat?

How are you going to get around by yourself?

What about scary strangers?

So you ask your friends if they would be willing to come with you and they are all like…

And then you’re like…

And you definitely can’t ask your parents for help…

You realize you’ll be all alone!

So you start to freak out again.

Traveling around the world as a college dropout doesn’t sound all that grand anymore.

So you decide to go to your parents again…and apologize… and they’re like…

But then they’re like…

After a pep talk from your parents, your friends encourage you to study again. You’re almost done with the semester!

After so much positivity, you build up the courage to study for all your upcoming exams.

Nothing can stop you now!

Until next semester comes around…

Hang in there Collegiettes! There are always study abroad opportunities to get your travel bug fix!
